Tasks with Contacts

I dont know whether this feature was ever considered by mobile phone companies and their R & D teams.

Can tasks be linked to Contacts in mobile phones? Atleast in PDAs? What do I mean? I mean this. All mobile phones have an option to maintain a To-do list, or Tasks list. Some of our tasks are related to asking, informing or in some way requires communication with some person(s). If that person exists in our Contact List, then, can we have an option to link this particular task with that contact(s).

Functionality:
Say, I have Task T which involves persons X & Y. Then, I add this Task A to the To-do list or my Tasks list and link it up with contacts X & Y. Then, I forget about it (Thats the reason for Tasks list to exist :) ). Next, whenever I get a call from say X, then a link or a small icon appears showing existence of some task with that contact. When we click on that link, even before picking up the call, I get a list of all tasks related with that person. In this case, Task T appears on the screen. Similar can be the scenario when I call up the person X & Y so that apart from the tasks for which I called up, I get a list of tasks which I wanted to finish with that person and had fed into system sometime back.

This same concept can be extended to Gmail and GTasks. It has got one very useful feature of linking a mail with Tasks. So, in a round-a-about way, we can link contacts with the tasks. But what we should get is a link to Tasks if there is a task linked with any of the mail id which is entered in To box, while Composing. Currently, there is a Labs feature of Suggested Contacts. Similar to it, can be the Tasks list for the earlier said advantages.

Can something be done about it? Suggestions to Mobile phone companies may be difficult. But suggesting to Google is easier :). Google gives its users an option to voice out their opinions and suggestions to improve their products. It is called Google Product Ideas (as I link this page, it is displaying blank page :( ). Though implementation in Google side is possible, this is most effective and useful in cell phones. Hope to see it soon... Atleast because of Android! :)
